What is a forged blank?

Forged blanks refer to parts blanks made by hot forging process. The forging force can change the shape, size and mechanical properties of the steel blanks. After hot forging, the forged blanks can achieve fine grains and dense structure, and can withstand various heat treatment strengthening processes. Thus, forged blanks are suitable for manufacturing important mechanical parts that need to withstand large tensile stress and bending stress, and have impact loads or large pulsating stress. Usually, the forged steel blanks are made up of carbon steel or alloy steel. We would get the final mechanical parts by the heat treatment and machining the forged blanks.
